We maintain a standing record for each of the seventeen states we cover — Afghanistan, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
Each country page collects documented developments from United Nations bodies, regional institutions, courts and human-rights organisations. Coverage is organised under seven cross-cutting issues so that developments can be compared across borders, and pages are revised as new material arrives.
Where a matter is contested, the competing positions are set out and verified fact is distinguished from allegation and from our own analysis.
